Musings about the Microsoft Azure Cloud and related technologies

About the Author

Welcome to ErikTheCloudGuy.com!

My name is Erik Dempsey and this is my blog site where I will post articles about primarily Microsoft Azure but I may sneak in some Office 365 content now and then.  I will work to post how-to's, upcoming features, and my own musings about cloud and related technologies.  My site was down for a couple of years so some of the posts here are older but I will make sure to note that at the beginning of the post.

A little about me, I have been an IT Pro for 20 years primarily as a systems engineer in the consulting world.  I did spend 4 years in corporate IT but I have been cured of that disease (at least it was for me).  I currently work for Microsoft as a Premier Field Engineer (PFE) for Azure IaaS.  I have been working with Office 365 since 2012, which means I started in O365 when it was running the Office/Exchange/SharePoint 2010 version (ouch).  I started working with Azure IaaS in 2013/2014 when IaaS was fairly immature and were called Cloud Services.  My focus in Azure is on compute, networking, automation, and site recovery.  My ideal day is writing PowerShell runbooks and ARM templates.

I am also a husband and father.  My wife and I have been happily married since 1996.  We have 3 kids, all adults now.  And I am also the head coach for a high school girls lacrosse team.  I love technology, spending time with my family, and coaching my team; but not necessarily in that order.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the content.  Please leave comments or ask questions and I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible.
